3 Major Components of an effective Squeeze Page

Every internet marketer nowadays is talking about using squeeze page to build up your own e-mail list. “Money is in the List” became a motto to internet marketer. So what really is squeeze page and how can you use it to monetize your internet business?

Squeeze page basically is the first web page you will see when you visit a website. It usually consists of three components. The first one is the Heading and Subheading. Follow by benefits in bullet form and then a Autoresponder opt-in box to capture visitors’ name and email address.

Visitor usually have to input their email address before they could go further to see the rest of the website. By typing in visitor’s email address, they will usually receive some free materials. Most often is some free valuable information, e-course or even a small application software.

The beauty of using squeeze page is about human psychology. Law of Reciprocity is being exercised here. In exchange of visitor’s email address they will get some freebies. Now you might say, “the visitor might not want the freebie!” Well it goes back to the first two elements of an effective squeeze page.

The heading of the squeeze page will determine whether a visitor will continue to read the rest of the web page in first 5 seconds. For a squeeze page to be effective you have to create an attention grabbing heading. You can use agitation and solution scheme to generate the heading.

Other than the actual wording of the heading, the font and color is very important too. Statistics show that Tahoma 18 point in red yield very good opt-in rate.

The second element of an effective squeeze page is putting your benefits in bulletin form with no more than 5 bullets. There are always misunderstanding between features and benefits. One way to test whether it is a benefit or feature is to ask “so what”. If you can answer that effortlessly then it is most likely a benefit. When people buy a drill from Home Depot, they are actually buying a hole – the solution a drill provide you.

With an attention-grabbing Heading, 5 benefit-rich description bullets and a free informative e-course offer, you will be able to create an effective Squeeze Page which will help you to build your own potential customer list and quite possibly rake in a lot of money.

Laying the Right Foundation: Starting a Home Business on a Budget

Why a Budget is Important

Striking out on your own can be a very tricky proposition. Starting your own business may be exciting, but it is also inherently full of risk. Unless you get yourself going from the right foot, then the chances of achieving success are very small. Conversely, however, as long as you have the right foundation, and keep working on that foundation, success is almost an automatic thing. It is vital that you run your home business on a budget, if you aspire for long-term success.

One of the most important parts of running a business is operating on a budget. Many people (mostly unsuccessful ones) prefer “going with the flow” than with actually setting goals and budgets. For the most part, this attitude is a mistake. Unless you have an incredible memory and unnatural clear-sightedness, planning for both the present and the future is a prerequisite to success, no matter how you define that elusive concept.

Because this is an article about home businesses, then we will begin by defining success as the growth and eventual profitability of your particular business. By “growth” we mean that the business will expand, hopefully outgrowing your home and eventually participating in the corporate arena. By “profitability”, we mean that the business will become a cash-generating machine, so much so that you attain financial freedom, and never have to work a single day again if you don’t feel like it. This article argues that in order to achieve growth and profitability, discipline is needed, and plans must be made and acted upon.

Crafting a Budget

One of the most important plans you must conceptualize is that of your budget. Many businesses, even if they have great ideas and wonderful products, still fail for lack of proper planning and efficient allocation of resources. Avoid this mistake. Only a home business on a budget can ever be truly successful.

First, make it a habit to write down, on paper, both what you earn and what you spend, on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. This is the least that you can do. Look over what you have written down and you will easily see the areas that can be improved upon, especially in the expense column. It is astonishing how many expenses we never notice until we get them down in paper. As the business grows larger, accounting knowledge might be needed. If you have neither the time nor the inclination to acquire the knowledge yourself, find someone who does.

Second, analyze the figures and determine the areas where you can cut costs, and where you should add capital. Every business has areas that generate above-average returns, as well areas that under-perform. As much as possible, redirect your resources to the projects and ideas that give you the most return. This is common sense.

Lastly, stick to your budget. A plan not acted upon is essentially useless, and a budget not followed is as useful as a page of doodles. Once you’ve written down and finalized your budget, do not make any departures from it unless absolutely necessary. Be disciplined – it’s the only way you’ll get anywhere. By running your home business on a budget, you are securing your future at a small expense to the present.

Work at Home Challenges

Posted July 25, 2006 by Howard Ng

http://www.EBizOutlook.com

Being able to be your own boss and make a decent living is always part of people’s dream. Especially after all the big scandal about mega company being dishonest on its accounting practice and bankrupt the company. It evaporates a lot of people’s retirement plan overnight.

The dream to work at home is a staple in most people’s minds. What most people don’t know is that there can be drawbacks to working at home as well. As someone who wants to start your own home based business, you should be aware of these pitfalls, so that you can prepare in advance for whatever inconvenience they may pose.

1. Lack of financial security. Working at home and starting your own home based business carries risk. Unlike monthly stable salary, you will not be receiving a fixed amount each month. There’s a large possibility that the compensation you receive will be small in comparison to your regular job, especially at the beginning. The upside, of course, is that you also stand to gain much. Some of the biggest, most profitable businesses today were first small home start-ups. Companies like Microsoft, The Body Shop, and Coca-Cola are examples of companies that were first run from the proverbial garage. Reward is always in direct proportion to risk.

2. Having to take charge of your own time. Time can either be put to good, profitable use, or it can be wasted. If you are not a disciplined person, then you might have a tough time making the venture work. After all, being at home means that you are comfortable – perhaps too comfortable. You can surf the net, watch TV, fix dinner, play with the kids, shoot some hoops, talk with your friends, read a book, take a nap – there are so many things that threaten to eat up your time when you’re at home.

If you really want to work at home, you should first make sure that you could carve up a good amount of time to spend on your business. You should have the ability to set a schedule and stick with it; otherwise you might be heading for financial ruin. However, if you are the kind of person who is willing and able to set your goals and work towards them, then having control of your own time is an incredible advantage. You will be able to set your priorities, manage your tasks, and minimize the waste of your time – things that are difficult to accomplish when you are in someone else’s employ.

3. Potential isolation. Because you are not forced to interact with other people, you might fall into a tendency to cut yourself off from most daily interactions. This is a danger that those with more conservative or shy personalities face. To counteract this, you simply have to allot a portion of your time to meet friends and meet new people. Never get too engrossed in your work to the detriment of your social life; you’ll just suffer in the end.

Don’t let this little list discourage you from taking the plunge! That’s exactly what most people do, which is why you don’t see a whole bunch of truly rich people in your neighborhood. Scan down this list and fix in your mind how you intend to overcome these obstacles in your path to riches. Knowing your weaknesses is strength – never forget that.

Like anything else, work at home does provide you some disadvantages and advantages. You just have to focus on the primary motivation and move towards your goal one step at a time so that you will be able to work at home and enjoy the fruits your have plant.

Anybody that is looking to make money from home probably wants to do so without having to spend money first. This is especially true in today's day and age because of all of the get rich quick scams that are being run online. In order to avoid these scams, the most important thing that you can do is never pay up front for anything. A good rule of thumb is that if you are being charged a set up fee, you should simply skip over that opportunity. There are not too many legitimate money making options that actually require you to send a set up fee in order to get started. Most of the time, all the up front money will get you is a generic packet of information that is completely useless. You will then asked for more money before you even know it.

Making money from home is possible in a number of different ways. Filling out surveys is a great way to make money from home without having to pay any up front costs. But even though there are survey companies that are legit, there are also a large group of them that are scams. Again, these scams will try to charge you money up front in order to get started. Instead of simply paying the fee, all you have to do is search the internet in order to find a company that will let you get started for free.

Another great way to make money from home for free is to become an independent contractor. This means that you will sell your services to companies across the world without ever becoming a full time employee of theirs. The great thing about becoming a contractor is that regardless of what skills you have, you can sell your services. The most popular positions include ones in the writing, computer, sales/marketing, and administrative industries. Even though these are the most common industries, you can become an independent contractor in any field that interests you.

You can also make money from home for free by starting a small business. Many people do this as hobby, just to find out that it has turned into a full time venture. You can start a small business in industry that you please with the things that you have around your home. In today's world, if you have a computer you can do pretty much anything that you want.

Making money from home without having to pay for start up costs is something that a lot of people are interested in. There are many options available to you, and you can find the ones that are best by searching the internet and determining what opportunities best suit your needs.

Opt in lists

So you have your business up and running, you have a small client base and wish to expand. What do you think would be a good idea at this point? Flyers? Media releases? No the answer is much more simple than that. You need to reach the masses without draining your resources and or tuckering yourself out. This is where Opt in lists come in handy.

The idea behind opt in lists, is simple whenever someone comes to your site, you place them on opt in list tag that prompts them to leave an email address. Then this address in turn can be used for promotional and business purposes. This is a very efficient and easy to use marketing strategy, and has definitely paid off for some of the biggest online firms on the planet.

This e-mail listing is not solely reserved for clients, it can be used to address employees, investors, suppliers, distributors, resellers, and potential clients alike. In this day and age, it is highly unlikely that a company or even a common person does not have access to an e-mail account. With over 1 billion people globally online this year, you can bet just about all of them have e-mail, of some sort.

Permission based marketing is the way to go, if you feel you may be bothering or annoying someone, by sending them information about your product or service. The idea that you cannot send e-mail to everyone on the list is purely preposterous. Go for a high investment return audience if need be. When it comes down to it, e-mail has cornered the market on being a very fast communication devise that is cheap.

It is far cheaper than using the telephone when you are dealing with the long distance charges. This could easily be one of the best marketing tools you find for your business why would you delay, and take a chance to lose more money? Many people still have no ideas to generate flow to their sites and how to do follow ups for further business. With opt in e-mail you will have an easy time keeping control of the business you can, could or will have.

This direct e-mail to client route is very slowly catching fire, and will most likely take over as the marketing method of choice in the very near future. With out a tool such as opt in list; the company cannot reach nearly as much of a potential client base as with the program. Any method proven to work and show production in a business should never be avoided.

It may not work for you, but at least reviewing the information on it, and your options will give you a better idea on whether of not it would be right for you and you business.

How to Make Money Online by Selling Information Products?

Posted May 17, 2006 by Howard Ng
Categories: Internet Business

Copyright © Howard Ng http://www.EBizOutlook.com

There are many different business ventures, which capitalize the use of the World Wide Web. You may be wondering what type of product sold on the internet brings in the most money and the answer to that is actually information. Information product is the easiest to create and will reach your target audience quicker than any other product you can think of. The profit margin of selling information online can easily be more than 500 percent.

There are many forms of information that you can sell on the internet, such as e-books (digital books), digital reports, newsletters, or software. Virtually any product that is informative in nature can be sold on the internet as an information product. Here are some reasons why information products are a good choice to sell online:

* Information products are relatively easy to create and quick to market. This type of method does not take years to develop, nor does it require intense design meetings. It does not require a lot of capital upfront to manufacture. You can create information products in as little as a couple of hours. They can start generating revenue as soon as they are posted. All you require to begin this venture is a great topic and a computer.

* You do not have to stock or count inventory. This frees up space in your home and/or garage because you do not have to buy any products to sell to others. The product that you are selling is digital and the only space that it will be taking up is your hard disk in your computer.

* Your startup costs are minimal. The only investment you have is your time to create the products. Moreover, if you choose to become an affiliate marketer for someone else’s information products, there is no product cost at all.

* Sales and delivery is instant, automatic and available 24 hours per day, seven days a week. You never have to close your doors. There are programs that allow you to completely automate everything from sales and deliveries to follow up emails and etc, basically anything else that is needed to operate a successful information product business.

* Another advantage to this type of business is that it gives your customers instant gratification by your immediate delivery of the product. There is no waiting for what they are looking for, especially if you set up to automatically handle every aspect of the transaction.

* Shipping and handling are non-existent for this type of business venture. You can sit back and watch for your order coming in and money going to your bank.

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?

Author of "Dotcomology – The Science of Making Money Online"

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work from home and make money on the Internet. But before you even turn on your computer, the first question you have to ask yourself is whether you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t for everyone. Some people like the commute. They really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what to do, and they like the routine of working nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are concerned about the risk of starting up their own business. They’re not sure it’s worth the investment of time and money, and they’re scared of the responsibility that comes with running their own company. They wonder if there is another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next Big Thing". Anything can happen… Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful, self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t happen without effort. It didn’t happen without at least some initial investment of both time and money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now without me making sure that the taxes are filed and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my business makes. If you’re prepared to give an e-business the time, the work and the money it needs to get started and get growing, it can happen for you too.

How to automate some of the chores for your online home business?

When you think about online home business you are thinking about setting up your laptop right besides your swimming pool, sipping your Martini and doing ‘business’ with sea breeze on your face. Well, with some hard work at the beginning of your business you can eventually attain that level. At the mean time you have to answer all the e-mails, fulfill the orders, update your customer lists, keep up with your accounting process, etc. This is very important for you business but it won’t make it grow.

This won’t attract more people to buy or bring in tons of new traffic. How can you manage to get all the necessary chores done and still improve your product/service, increase traffic, or advertise your new idea? Automation is the key to running your business and growing it at the same time. By automating repeating tasks, it will give you more time to focus on growth and increasing traffic and sales. It is the key to success for online business owners.

Automation will provide awesome customer service that frees up your time for bigger and better things. An autoresponder is an amazing tool to make those pesky and yet important e-mail chores go away. They can help you to:

1. Get sales on your products and/or services 24 hours per day 7 days per week that will bring in more profit.

2. Gain excellent credibility with your customers by providing instant responses to their inquiries.

3. Provide order confirmation and shipping details instantly to customers. This will give them peace of mind of the money they spent with you. In turns it will help the customers to come more often.

4. Boost up your sales by up-selling backend products automatically.

5. Answer the most frequently asked questions and/or provide more information about what you are selling.

These are just a few advantages of using autoresponder. As you can see the faster you get your business automated the better off you will be. This will free you up to work on generating more growth and add more content to your site. You will be equipped to handle thousands of customers without getting bogged down.

Before you sign up for any autoresponder service you need to decide which type of service will work for you. There are four different ways to get them. Your hosting company may have offered a basic one in their package already. This is good if you only need to send a few standard email. You can also get free ones, but they will have third party ads attached to them and they are limited in their usage.

Then there is the paid autoresponder which will allow you to use them as you see fit without any restriction like the free ones do. They also don’t have any ads attached to them. Lastly, there is an e-mail management solution which is geared towards e-mail marketing. You would use that tool to set up your responders through your own computer.
